Main Street Beautification: Volunteers tasks include trash pick up, sidewalk sweeping, spreading mulch. weed wacking. Etc. As always, bring any equipment or supplies you may have that can be useful. RSVP: ShaneCulliton. [email protected] War on Knotweed: Where: Various, targeted areas along the Blackstone River. Description: An effort to rid the Blackstone River Valley of Japanese Knotweed. This invasive species has attacked the riverbanks of our Blackstone River and is quickly crowding out our native plant life. This effort has also decided to offer "adopt a spot" opportunities for those who prefer it. Tasks: We will attempt various methods of stifling the growth of this species. Some will cut, some will spray, etc. , removing stalks of plants, picking up trash as we see it. RSVP: Keith Hainley. [email protected] |
